Job summary

Hill Care Ltd is seeking a weekend chef to plan, prepare and serve high-quality meals within budget while maintaining strict hygiene standards. You will contribute to menus, accommodate special dietary needs, and ensure safe handling of food in a care setting.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Home Manager on menus, managing stock, and training or supervising kitchen staff where required. This role emphasizes reliable weekend coverage and adherence to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706 - 1 & 2 or working towards.
• Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate.
• Good communication skills.
• Team player.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, as required.
• Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and consider client preferences.
• Liaise with the Home Manager when planning / costing menus to provide a balanced diet.
• Maintain accurate records of food supplies and temperatures; ensure stock rotation.
