MKJ Care Services Ltd. is seeking a Weekend Care Worker to support people with physical disabilities and mental health needs in their own homes and out in the community, following a care plan.

The role focuses on building independence and enabling weekend participation, while providing personal care at the resident’s pace. The position requires genuine weekend availability, a driving licence and your own car, with a compassionate, reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Building independence, rather than doing things for people who can do them themselves
• Getting out to community activities and events at the weekend, when most of them actually happen
• Personal care: washing, dressing, bathing and toileting, done at the person’s pace
• Prompting, monitoring or administering medication, and recording it properly
• Preparing and cooking meals, cleaning, shopping and help with paying bills
• Keeping accurate records, and reporting any change or concern promptly
• Working with family and friends who care unpaid, because they usually know the person best

The same work as our Care Worker role, on a weekend-only pattern. It suits people who have something else on in the week — study, another job, or family — and want regular, dependable weekend hours rather than an unpredictable rota.

This role is open to female applicants only. That is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010: the people being supported need personal care, and have asked for female workers.
