Job summary

The Care Bureau Ltd is seeking a Weekend Domiciliary Care Worker to provide compassionate home care on Saturdays and Sundays across Rugby and surrounding areas. You will help clients stay independent, safe and comfortable in their own homes, with full training provided and DBS costs covered by us.

No prior care experience is required; a kind heart and patience are essential. Shifts are weekend-only, with flexible options to work one or both days, depending on your availability.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and reliable disposition is essential.
• Good communication with clients and team members is required.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle are needed for visiting clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with washing, dressing and settling in for the day.
• Prepare meals and snacks according to client preferences.

• Assist with medication under guidance.
• Light housekeeping, laundry or tidying as needed.
• Provide companionship and weekend support to help clients stay independent.

Ever had one of those days where a small act of kindness made everything better? That's basically the job description. As a Weekend Domiciliary Care Worker with The Care Bureau, you'll help people live independently, safely, and happily in their own homes — and you'll finish your shift knowing you've genuinely made a difference to someone's life.

This role is all about weekends — giving people support on Saturdays and Sundays. No previous care experience needed — just a kind heart and a bit of patience. And if you've cared for a family member, volunteered, or worked in retail, hospitality or similar people-facing roles, those skills count for more than you'd think.

What You'll Be Doing

No two weekends are the same. You might be:

• Helping someone get washed, dressed or changed and settled for the day
• Preparing meals and snacks according to what they fancy
• Popping to the shops or picking up a prescription
• Giving someone a hand with their medication
• Doing a bit of light housework, laundry or tidying up
• Simply being there — company, conversation, and a friendly face at the weekend

It's hands-on, it's varied, and it genuinely matters. You'll be supporting people to stay independent, comfortable and dignified in their own homes.

Weekend Hours Only

This role is strictly weekends — no weekday commitment required:

• Shifts run across Saturday and Sunday, between 6:30am and 10:30pm
• Work one weekend day, both, or every weekend — it's up to you
• Ideal if your weekdays are already taken up with another job, studies, or family life — or you simply prefer working weekends
• No long shifts stuck in one place — visits are short and varied, so the day flies by

What We’re Looking For

• A caring, patient and reliable nature
• Good communication skills
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (required, for getting between visits)
• Willingness to learn — full training is provided, so previous care experience isn't essential
• A DBS check will be required (don’t worry, we cover the cost — see below!)
