Job summary

CYGNET is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant for weekend coverage (Sat 5h, Sun 5h) at Cygnet Hospital Bierley in the Bradford area. You will support the catering team to prepare meals, handle deliveries, stock ingredients, and maintain cleanliness in a care-focused hospital kitchen.

Applicants should be passionate about catering, with good communication and a proactive approach, able to work independently and as part of a team. Enhanced DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• Passionate about catering, preferably with care-setting experience.
• Excellent communicator and team player.
• Able to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform basic food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils and store correctly; check and stock ingredients.
• Assist with deliveries and stock ordering; maintain COSHH-compliant procedures.
• Ensure kitchen and equipment are kept clean and safe.
