Job summary

Cygnet Group is hiring a Bank Kitchen Assistant at Cygnet Hospital Oldbury to help provide balanced meals and maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment. The role offers flexible bank shifts that fit around your lifestyle, providing cover for annual leave, sickness and training.

You will assist with food preparation, wash utensils and manage stock, while ensuring hygiene and COSHH compliance. A DBS check is required for successful candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils, dishes and store them properly.
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering.
• Maintain personal hygiene and keep the kitchen clean and hygienic.
• Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment per procedures.

Cygnet Hospital Oldbury is our state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital for women, in the West Midlands. The service has two wards, a 12-bed PICU ward and a 15-bed Acute ward. Cygnet Hospital Oldbury has a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and supports the acute needs of adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment.

Your Day-to-Day

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & o ther kitchen duties
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
