Job Description
The primary objectives for the Food and Beverage Supervisor include:
- Assisting in managing the daily operations of the Abbey Kitchen restaurant and Rufford Mill Wedding Venue to maximize business opportunities aligned with the company’s business plan.
- Participating in providing an exciting, healthy, innovative, and quality food and beverage service to meet customer needs and increase profitability.
- Delivering high standards of customer care within a safe environment by guiding and assisting customers.
- Ensuring food and beverage presentation meets high standards at all times.
- Maintaining food hygiene and cleanliness standards continuously.
- Staying aware of health and safety issues, implementing procedures, and promoting best practices.
- Generating ideas and taking actions to increase facility usage.
- Adhering to financial regulations regarding cash handling, reconciliation, and invoicing.
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws.
- Assisting in staff training and development.
- Working collaboratively to meet usage and profitability targets.
Daily Tasks
The supervisor will focus on:
- Supporting food preparation, cooking, and serving.
- Ensuring sufficient staffing for safe and high-quality operations.
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of kitchens, food prep areas, and customer spaces.
- Serving food and beverages, including bar services.
- Assisting with staff scheduling, adapting to weather and business needs.
- Maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Managing cash transactions according to procedures.
- Promoting secondary spend through regular activities.
- Monitoring and restocking stock levels.
- Performing any additional duties to support facility operations.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications, knowledge, and skills include:
- Basic food hygiene certificate preferred.
- At least one year's experience in a restaurant and function suite.
- Personal license and management experience advantageous.
- Strong food preparation and service skills.

- Ability to build strong relationships with customers, clients, and colleagues.
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
- Ability to supervise, motivate staff, and work on a rota system.
