Job summary

MBDA is recruiting an Algorithm Engineer for a 10-week placement starting June 2027. You will contribute to the Weapon System Algorithms & Performance (WSAP) team, applying mathematical techniques to engineering problems and developing modern algorithms in a defence context.

Current undergraduates in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science who enjoy programming in MATLAB or Python are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Interest in mathematics and applying mathematical techniques to engineering problems.
• Experience programming for scientific/engineering applications is a plus (MATLAB, Python).

Responsibilities

• Support the WSAP team with algorithm development and performance evaluation.
• Work on real-world MBDA projects and contribute to early stage concepting.
• Collaborate with MBDA project teams to ensure timely delivery of algorithm components.
