Job summary
MBDA UK is seeking an Algorithm Developer for the Weapon System Algorithms and Performance team. You will design and test mathematical algorithms to maximise MBDA capability, collaborating across software, systems, and simulation groups.
The role requires a numerate background with strong math skills, experience in Matlab/Simulink and Python, and a commitment to quality. Hybrid working is offered with on-site presence four days a week.
Qualifications
- A numerate graduate or post‑graduate qualification (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science).
- Mathematical analysis / modelling and numerical simulation is a core aspect of this role
- A commitment to product quality and the procedures we follow to ensure it
- A desire to make an impression within the MBDA engineering community
- Experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, Geospatial data and/or geographical information systems, Software development
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test mathematical algorithms using Matlab/Simulink and Python
- Interpret technical specifications and collaborate with other departments (Software, Human Factors, Simulation and Modelling, Systems and Experimentation teams) to define the algorithm functionality
- Influence our processes and the way we develop Mission Planning and Command and Control algorithms within the team and more widely within MBDA
- Demonstrate a dedication to quality through progressive thinking and rigour
