Job summary

Donard Recruitment is seeking a WCA Assessor to join a hybrid team. You will conduct 5–6 assessments per day, including telephone and in-person evaluations, and complete the accompanying written report.

The role supports flexible scheduling with a focus on autonomy and case closure. The position requires registration with NMC or HCPC, plus 2+ years post‑qualification experience and strong communication and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified healthcare professional (NMC or HCPC registered).
• 2+ years post-qualification experience.
• Excellent communication and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 5–6 Work Capability Assessments (WCA) per day, including telephone and face‑to‑face assessments, and prepare the written report.
• Distribute cases across the day to maintain autonomy and see assessments through to conclusion.
• Assess the full range of health conditions and disabilities, including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual and cognitive impairments.

We are now recruiting for hybrid working Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics to make the most of their existing clinical knowledge and take on a new role with a supportive, locally owned assessment provider. As a WCA Assessor you will be providing unbiased, comprehensive Work Capability Assessments (WCA) whilst ensuring a personalised, inclusive and empathetic service for the service user.

Your New Role:

• As a WCA Assessor, you will conduct 5-6 assessments per day including telephone/face to face assessment and (Apply online only) word report.
• Your cases and appointments will be spread throughout the day allowing you to have greater job autonomy to manage cases to conclusion.
• You will assess the full range of health conditions and disabilities affecting the claimant, including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual and cognitive impairments.
• You will have time built into your working rota for breaks, CPD, audit amendments, requesting and reviewing further evidence and team meetings.

Requirements

• Qualified Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Paramedic.
• 2+ years post qualification experience.
• Valid registration on NMC or HCPC without restrictions.
• Excellent communication skills and strong IT literacy
