Job summary

Thames Water in Ashford is seeking a Performance Manager to lead a team of Slow Sand Filter Operators at Ashford Water Treatment Works. You will develop people, monitor performance, and ensure outputs meet safety, quality, and budget targets.

You’ll analyse process data, prepare reports for stakeholders, and coordinate with mobile plant maintenance. The role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and a commitment to Safe Working Practices.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and supporting a team while coordinating activity.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive change.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to present findings to managers.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage workload under pressure.
• Health and Safety, stakeholder engagement and customer focus are essential.
• A valid UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Slow Sand Filter Operators and a Working Supervisor.
• Control and audit site activity, ensuring the safety of the team, contractors and other third parties.
• Analyse data to inform site performance and planning decisions.
• Prepare reports and presentations for key stakeholders.
• Ensure production plans and service agreements are met; manage budgets.
• Oversee maintenance of mobile plant and coordinate maintenance contractors.
