Job summary

Marlowe (a part of Mitie) is seeking a Water Technician – Level 1 to operate, maintain and monitor water treatments for our customers. The role focuses on ensuring water safety and regulatory compliance, with 40 hours per week in Fife, UK.

You will perform TMV valve servicing, inspect tanks, sample domestic systems for laboratory analysis and document results in real time, working either independently or with teammates. A valid UK driving licence and DBS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Strong basic water treatment knowledge.
• Effective verbal and written communication, good literacy, and strong client-service skills.
• Excellent time management and administration abilities, including confidence using phone or tablet apps in line with our systems.
• Demonstrates time-keeping, cultural awareness, sound work ethics and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Holds a valid UK Driving Licence and DBS/custody checks as required.

Responsibilities

• TMV valve servicing both failsafe and strip down.
• Cleaning of the cooling towers & tanks (2nd person).
• Tank inspections.
• Temperature monitoring and recording of results.
• Sampling of domestic systems and submission to the laboratory.
• Descaling and cleaning of showers and shower heads.
• Flushing of little‑used outlets.
• Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
• Complete documentation on the electronic system in live time.
• Follow method statements and the fundamental rules of Marlowe Environmental Services.
• Aim to avoid more than one audit failure per year.

We're looking for a Water Technician – Level 1 who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of water treatments for our customers. This role ensures that water is safe and meets regulatory standards.

Role Responsibilities

• This includes all tasks of a Level 1 Technician:
  • TMV valve servicing both failsafe and strip down
  • Cleaning of the cooling towers & tanks (2nd person)
  • Tank inspections
  • Temperature monitoring and accurate recording of results
  • Sampling of domestic systems and accurate submission to the laboratory
  • Descaling and cleaning of showers & shower heads
  • Flushing of little‑used outlets
• Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and submit on the electronic system in live time.
• Carry out tasks allocated to you in accordance with all method statements and the fundamental rules of Marlowe Environmental Services.
• Must not exceed one audit failure per year.

• Holds a valid UK Driving Licence and meets compliant DBS and customer‑specific security check requirements.
