Job summary

Egis UK is seeking Quantity Surveyors to support major water sector capital programmes, primarily in the Midlands with opportunities in the North West. This role offers progression across defence and nuclear sectors and requires NEC3/4 contract expertise and on-site presence.

You will report to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead and contribute to commercial management from feasibility to final account. Join Egis to help deliver critical infrastructure projects, manage budgets, and shape bids

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
• Progress toward RICS chartership or equivalent professional development
• Experience in water, environment, defence, or nuclear sectors
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and risk management
• NEC3/4 contract expertise (Options A, C, E essential)
• Exposure to ECI/ESI in design & build programmes
• Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirable
• Line management experience and ability to mentor junior QSs
• Willingness to work on-site a minimum of 4 days per week
• Right to work in the UK; this role is subject to client interview and acceptance

Responsibilities

• Administer NEC3/4 ECC contracts (Options A, C & E) on the client side
• Support budget control, payment valuations, and cost forecasting
• Maintain accurate commercial records and resolve contractual issues
• Collaborate with Project Managers on payment certification and defined cost determination
• Feasibility studies and cost planning
• Assist in preparing and evaluating tender documentation
• Identify risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
• Post-Contract Delivery: contract administration and compliance with terms
• Monitor costs, negotiate variations, and support claims resolution
• Contribute to final account preparation and post-project evaluation
• Bid & Business Development Support: assist senior leadership in bid development
• Provide commercial input and cost data to strengthen submissions
• Maintain a database of lessons learned, bid outcomes, client insights
• Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial and bidding processes
