Water Quality Technician Role

Every year, we carry out over 500,000 tests on samples of water from our treatment works, reservoirs, and customer properties to ensure your drinking water is of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in an out-of-hours roster, including weekends, on a rota basis (1 weekend in 5).
2. Travel extensively between customers and sites across a wide geographical area.
3. Take water samples from reservoirs and customer sites, managing sampling records and equipment to industry standards.
4. Investigate supply issues and customer complaints as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Previous experience involving driving is required.
2. Confidence to 'cold call' residential and commercial properties.
3. A clean manual driving license.
4. Ability to plan journeys efficiently and good driving knowledge.
5. Organized, independent, with excellent attention to detail.
6. Willingness to learn about the water industry and processes.
7. Good computer literacy.

What We Offer

• Front-line role representing Thames Water to our customers.
• Hourly pay rate: £14.03.
• Location: Woodford E17 4AE.
• Duration: 6 months, with potential extension up to a year.
• Start date: To be considered.
• Hours: 38 hours per week.
