Job Description:

Our client, a top-performing multi-billion hedge fund, is seeking a highly talented QA Automation Engineer to join its London office. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the team's testing strategy, working closely with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure robust, high-quality software delivery across a dynamic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a fully automated testing framework tailored to the team’s code base.
• Create and maintain automated test plans for functional, regression, and smoke testing using Python (Pytest).
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure features are thoroughly tested in parallel with ongoing development.
• Assess existing systems for automated testability and enhance frameworks where necessary.
• Perform rigorous testing across server, database, and interface layers to ensure system resilience and performance.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong commercial experience in quality assurance within financial services.
• Proven experience building and maintaining automation testing frameworks.
• Deep experience in Python development and a strong understanding of testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with testing server-side and database components.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Experience:

• Expertise with Pytest and Python-based automation tooling.
• Prior exposure to equities trading environments.
• Familiarity with KDB and FIX protocol testing.
• Experience testing front-end interfaces and GUIs.
