Job summary

Affinity Water in Staines is recruiting a Sampler for the Water Quality Sampling Team. You will visit water treatment works, reservoirs and other sites in and around Staines to collect water samples, often working outdoors and independently to complete your daily schedule.

When indoors you will input data and record samples in our internal systems, using MS Excel and other core IT tools. The role includes weekend and out-of-hours standby with separate pay, a company van and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (clean/manual).
• 3 GCSEs with grade 4/C or above.
• Ability to perform manual handling safely.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Keen interest in the environment and water industry.
• Develops and maintains effective internal relationships with teamwork and customer relations.
• Strong desire for career progression and continual learning.

Responsibilities

• Visit water treatment works, reservoirs and other sites around Staines to collect water samples.
• Perform routine, non-routine and random sampling across the supply area, often outdoors and independently.
• Interact with customers to gain access to residential properties for sampling.
• Plan and manage your daily sampling schedule and meet deadlines.
• Input data and record samples into internal systems, using MS Excel.
• Participate in weekend and out-of-hours standby with standby pay.
• Carry a company van and wear appropriate safety gear when on site.
