Affinity Water in Stevenage is hiring a Sampler on a 9 Month FTC. You’ll collect water samples from treatment works and sites around Stevenage, sometimes entering properties to access samples. You’ll balance fieldwork with data entry at the Stevenage site, using MS Excel and other core IT tools.

You’ll work with autonomy, manage daily schedules, and join a standby rota with additional pay. The role supports learning, progression, and a strong service ethos in a busy water utility.

Qualifications

• Full UK clean/manual driving licence is required.
• 3 GCSEs with grade 4 or above (desirable).
• Ability to perform manual handling safely and competently.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in environment and water industry.
• Good teamwork and customer relations.
• Desire for career progression and continual learning.

Responsabilités

• Visit water treatment works, reservoirs and Affinity Water sites to collect samples.
• Perform routine, non-routine and random sampling across the supply area.
• Work independently to meet daily sampling schedule.
• Access residential properties to take water quality samples and engage with the public.
• Input data and record samples in internal systems; use MS Excel.
• Participate in weekend and out-of-hours standby rota; standby pay applies.
• Sit at Stevenage site for administration when not sampling outdoors.
