Job summary

Affinity Water in Stevenage is seeking a Sampler on a 9 Month FTC to join our Water Quality Sampling Team. You’ll visit treatment works, reservoirs and sites across our area to collect water samples and ensure regulatory standards are met.

You’ll work largely outdoors, with some site-based administration and data input using MS Excel, and you’ll join a standby rota to cover operational needs, contributing to service reliability for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Full UK Clean/Manual UK Driving Licence.
• 3 GCSEs with a grade 4 (C) or above (Desirable).
• Ability to perform manual handling activities safely and competently such as operating valves and lifting lids.
• Competent in use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Keen interest in the environment and water industry.
• Develops and maintains effective internal relationships, has a good teamwork focus and customer relations.
• Strong desire for career progression and passion for continual learning.

Responsibilities

• Visit water treatment works, reservoirs, and other Affinity Water sites to collect water samples.
• Perform routine, non-routine and random sampling across the supply area.
• Interact with customers to gain access to residential properties for sampling.
• Plan sampling schedule and manage time to meet daily deadlines while working independently.
• Complete administration tasks at Stevenage site and input data using MS Excel.
• Participate in weekend and out-of-hours standby rota to cover operational issues.
• Standby payments are provided on top of base salary.
