Job summary

Arup’s Water team in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join either the Cardiff or Birmingham office and contribute to robust, efficient engineering solutions for water and wastewater projects.

You will work on pumping systems, pipelines and treatment facilities, applying BIM, Revit and Plant 3D to deliver projects from feasibility to construction, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical designs in the water utilities sector.
• Progress towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IMechE or relevant body.
• Knowledge of UK water industry design standards and practices.
• Familiarity with BIM, Revit and Plant 3D for design delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical design and delivery of water sector projects from feasibility through construction.
• Lead pumping systems, pipelines and associated infrastructure within multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Utilise BIM tools to improve project outcomes and efficiency.
