Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking a Network Construction Operative to deliver our mains renewal programme at a Stroud site. You will work in a small team, carrying out excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of water mains and customer pipes, while minimising disruption to customers.

You will identify hazards, protect access, and use trenchless methods where possible. The role is full-time (42 hours/week) with standby duties and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Significant utilities industry experience preferred.
• National Water Hygiene and NRSWA qualifications preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of water mains and customer supply pipes and boundary boxes.
• Identify hazards, maintain customer access and water supplies.
• Use trenchless solutions where possible to reduce disruption.
• Work as part of a six-person team delivering the mains renewal programme.
• Standby duties required.
• Work 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with Friday finishing at 4:00pm.
