Wessex Water Services is seeking a Mainlaying Operative to join a small crew for installing and maintaining water mains. The role is based at Cossington Depot with travel across the Wessex Water area, involving outdoor work and direct customer liaison.

You will operate plant and undertake excavation and reinstatement tasks while adhering to safety procedures and quality standards. Training is provided where needed; a full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant site-based qualifications and certifications for mains installation.
• Experience in utilities or water industry is advantageous but training can be provided.
• Strong emphasis on health and safety and working outdoors.

Aufgaben

• Install new water mains and associated fittings on the water distribution network.
• Carry out excavations and reinstatement works in highways, footpaths and open ground.
• Operate plant and equipment in line with training and competency levels.
• Work safely and comply with health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Meet programme deadlines and productivity targets across multiple projects.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality assurance.
• Liaise with customers, landowners, local authorities and stakeholders as required.
• Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
