Job summary

Join AECOM Ireland Limited, Belfast, as a Project Manager in the Water team. You will lead multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction, coordinating clients, regulators, contractors and internal teams to deliver on time and within budget.

We seek Chartered Engineers with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, experience in water/wastewater, and proficiency in MS Project or Primavera. The role offers a hybrid working model with career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management.
• Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM, or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience working in the water and/or wastewater sector.
• Proven experience in project and contract management of infrastructure projects throughout the full cycle of project design delivery from inception to construction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and teams.
• Experience mentoring and training junior staff.
• Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera etc)

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects from concept through design, procurement and construction, ensuring alignment with client objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
• Manage projects through client stages and workshops, overseeing schedules, budgets, resources, cost forecasting and risk throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Coordinate clients, regulatory bodies, contractors and internal teams, managing stakeholder expectations and providing regular updates on progress, risks and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, health and safety standards and industry codes, liaising with environmental agencies and local authorities to secure required permits and approvals.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, environmental specialists and contractors, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development.
• Monitor KPIs across project delivery, safety, quality and sustainability, and lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support business development through the preparation of tender and bid submissions.
