Job summary

Arcadis offers a hands-on 10–12 week internship or 12‑month placement in our Water team, focusing on mechanical design for clean water, treatment plants and pumping stations. You will gain real project exposure while working with engineers and specialists across the UK, with signposted training and professional development.

The programme supports students who are working towards a degree in mechanical engineering, with opportunities to travel and engage in virtual work where possible.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in a relevant subject.
• Arcadian skills including resilience, creativity, analytical thinking and being a team player.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and consult stakeholders.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home; virtual working where possible.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve mechanical systems for water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects across water treatment facilities, pumping stations and process technologies.
• Support delivery of mechanical designs, maintaining quality and schedule, and contribute to digital engineering initiatives.
