Arcadis is offering a paid internship/12‑month placement in Mechanical Engineering within the Water team in the UK. You will design and improve critical water infrastructure, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, low‑carbon solutions.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience on real projects, with signposted training and exposure to clients, while developing technical and professional skills.

Job description

Role description:

Our paid Intern & Placement programme is designed to give you a hands‑on insight into the work we do as a company and help to develop skills and knowledge within your chosen field. Supported by signposted training, the programme is based on Arcadis’ core values, giving you both technical training and support to help you develop both personally and professionally whilst with us. You will be exposed to real projects and clients and given a range of experiences to immerse yourself into over the course of your 10–12-week internship or 12-month placement.

Role accountabilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer in our Water team, you will play a vital role in designing and improving the infrastructure that delivers clean water to homes, protects the environment and supports communities across the UK. Working on critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects, you will help develop innovative and sustainable solutions for future generations.

You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects, including water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, advanced process technologies, low‑carbon solutions and digital engineering initiatives. You will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems that improve water quality, increase resilience and enhance operational performance.

Working with experienced engineers and technical specialists, you will develop your technical and professional skills while contributing to projects that make a tangible difference to society and the environment.

• Accepted Degrees: BEng, MEng, or MSc Mechanical Engineering or with similar degree with mechanical content
