Job summary

TOTAL TECHNOLOGY (ENGINEERING) LIMITED in the UK is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for water infrastructure projects. You will develop safe, compliant, cost-effective electrical designs for water and wastewater schemes, focusing on design assurance, buildability and operational resilience, with a need to produce clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Proven electrical design experience in water/wastewater sector.
• Experience delivering from feasibility to detailed design.
• Knowledge of LV distribution, motor control, protection, earthing and electrical safety.
• Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant standards.
• Ability to produce calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Strong document-control and technical assurance processes.
• Good communication with stakeholders and site visits.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to water sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical designs from feasibility to handover.
• Produce drawings, specifications, calculations and reports.
• Develop LV distribution, MCCs, control panels and drives.
• Prepare load, cable-sizing, protection and discrimination studies.
• Ensure design compliance with AMP8 and standards.
• Contribute to CAF submissions and governance reviews.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, ICA, operations and construction teams.
• Attend site surveys, design reviews, HAZOPs and commissioning meetings.
• Identify risks and opportunities early; incorporate safety and energy efficiency.
• Support procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain design records and handover documentation.
