Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Design Manager to strengthen our Southern Division with flexible working. You will lead design delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure, coordinating engineers, suppliers and construction teams to transform complex requirements into practical, high-quality outcomes.

You will drive safe, buildable, cost-effective design solutions from scope definition through assurance, handover and construction support, shaping design strategy and mentoring others to deliver

Qualifications

• Essential engineering degree (or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in water, wastewater, infrastructure or design-build.
• Strong knowledge of CDM, health and safety, technical assurance and project governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery from scope definition through to handover.
• Ensure all design work meets health & safety, quality and governance requirements.
• Manage design plans, deliverables, schedules, risk logs and progress reporting.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, delivery, commercial, planning, supplier and construction.
• Drive value-led, low-carbon design while preserving quality and programme commitments.
• Control design change, manage interfaces and lead recovery actions.
• Represent the company with clients, partners and stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
