Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design for water/wastewater projects in regulated environments.
• Ability to develop practical, buildable mechanical solutions considering safety and life-cycle costs.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers within a mechanical discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution is preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design tasks and packages to meet technical standards, budgets and programmes.
• Develop mechanical designs, equipment specs, plant layouts and documentation for asset performance.
• Produce cost‑effective solutions covering construction, commissioning and operation costs.
• Review outputs to ensure quality and compliance with standards and company policy.
• Coordinate design activities with Process, EICA, Civil, Structural, Digital and Commissioning teams.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
• Support selection of equipment such as pumps, pipework, valves and treatment plant components.
• Mentor junior engineers, graduates and apprentices and share knowledge within the team.
• Build strong relationships with clients, discipline leads, project teams, suppliers and site personnel.
