Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering potable water and environmental infrastructure projects across the UK. You will guide design delivery for water treatment upgrades, asset maintenance and major capital schemes, driving innovative and sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline.
• Proven experience managing engineering design within the water industry.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration preferred.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and design risk management.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate engineering delivery.
• Manage design scope, programmes, budgets, resources and risks.
• Oversee treatment solutions and technical design development.
• Ensure designs meet quality, safety, regulatory and client requirements.
• Manage specialist suppliers and subcontractor design inputs.
• Drive value engineering, affordability and sustainable design.
• Undertake delegated Principal Designer duties where applicable under CDM regulations.
• Manage design risk assessments and health and safety documentation.
• Support recruitment, performance management and team development.
• Promote innovation, digital engineering and continuous improvement.
