Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd in Leeds is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead an in-house design team within the UK water division. You will oversee civil and infrastructure design across a portfolio of water and wastewater projects, ensuring technical excellence and CDM 2015 compliance.

The role combines senior leadership, client liaison and collaboration with project managers, contractors and consultants to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes for major infrastructure schemes.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Design Manager, Senior Design Engineer or similar.
Background in water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or infrastructure.
Experience leading a design team or managing design activity.
Strong knowledge of civil/infrastructure design principles and standards.
Practical understanding of CDM 2015 and Principal Designer responsibilities.
Excellent technical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Manage and develop an in-house team of designers.
Lead the delivery and coordination of civil and infrastructure design activities.
Undertake Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
Oversee design solutions through project delivery stages.
Oversee drawings, reports, specs and estimates.
