Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Principal Design Manager for water non-infrastructure projects in the UK. The role requires technical leadership across civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering, and delivering complex framework projects with attention to safety and quality.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate design programmes, review deliverables, and interface with a major water utility client while mentoring engineers and design leads.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Strong UK water sector experience.
• Proven delivery of design programmes across multiple projects.
• Strong understanding of UK design standards, CDM regulations and water industry specifications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery across a portfolio of water non-infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines.
• Develop and manage design programmes across multiple projects.
• Review and approve design deliverables to standards and client specs.
• Act as the primary design interface with the water utility client.
• Support project managers with budgets, resources and design risk management.
• Mentor engineers and design leads within the team.
