Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Water Team. Based across our North and Midlands offices—Birmingham, Chesterfield, Leeds and Manchester—with a flexible hybrid working model to suit project needs.

You will lead electrical design for wastewater and water infrastructure, conduct site surveys, prepare load schedules, single-line diagrams, MCCs, instrument schedules, PLC/SCADA concepts, and P&ID input, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with clients and

Qualifications

• Extensive design experience in large-scale water engineering projects.
• BEng or MEng in water/wastewater related field.
• Chartered Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and line management experience.
• Experience managing projects, delegating tasks and technical mentoring.
• Strong collaboration and coordination skills between teams, clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design across wastewater and water projects.
• Manage bids and proposals interfaces with clients.
• Deliver high-quality designs within budgets and timelines.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee team work.
