Job summary

Thames Water seeks an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control & Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join the Beckton site team. You will install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets and work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process networks to ensure water quality and efficiency.

Knowledge of relay logic/PLCs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and diagram fault-finding is essential; 18th Edition BS7671 qualification and a UK driving licence are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley).
• HNC or NVQ3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
• Understanding of operational plant and control systems.
• Desirable: Wonderware and ClearSCADA knowledge.
• Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams; inverter drives would help.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair water production assets.
• Work with SCADA systems, PLCs and process control networks.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers.
• Provide specialist technical advice and training for apprentices.
