Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an experienced Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Technician to join our Wastewater team in Greenwich. You’ll install, modify and commission plant equipment, diagnose faults, and work with multidisciplinary teams to improve assets and reduce environmental impact.

Applicants should have HNC/NVQ3 in ICA, 18th Edition preferred, PLC/relay logic experience, and a full UK driving licence. You’ll be supported by training programs and have a van, tools and PPE on duty.

Qualifications

HNC level or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in instrumentation, control and automation.
18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems is essential.
Experience reading circuit diagrams and fault-finding.
Experience with inverter drives is a plus.
Calibration and maintenance of front-line instrumentation.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance on wastewater assets.
Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to required standards.
Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plants.
Record asset information and raise follow-up works.
Provide technical guidance and training to colleagues and apprentices.
Contribute to safe, professional customer interactions and service delivery.
