Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Distribution Technician to keep the water flowing and ensure a reliable supply for communities. This field-based role involves responding to issues, fixing mains, and supporting customers on site with practical solutions.

You will work a rotating shift pattern, including early, day, and mid shifts, with some Saturdays. Standby out-of-hours work and standby earnings opportunities exist as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• A valid driving licence.
• A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
• Confident using IT and computers.
• Water industry qualifications advantageous but not essential.
• Previous knowledge of plumbing or water mains advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer appointments and carry out work, respond to requests and offer general advice.
• Carry out mains shuts, risk assessments, interruption reports and flushing; liaise with housing developers for new water supplies.
• Raise requests via IT systems for contractor work and supervise contractors on the distribution network.
• Investigate leaks, mains bursts and water discoloration and provide practical solutions.
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation and company policy.
• Take part in a standby rota for out-of-hours support.
