Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking a Design Estimator on a hybrid basis, based in Reading, for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will produce accurate designs and quotations for new water connections, manage enquiries, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely, compliant work.

Ideal candidates have excellent customer service, strong communication, and the ability to build relationships across teams while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships across teams.
• Highly organised with great attention to detail.
• Adaptable and quick to learn internal systems and processes.
• Strong problem solving and ability to work under pressure.
• Educated to diploma/degree level in engineering or STEM, with knowledge of water networks, CDM and HSE in construction.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate designs and quotations for new water connections.
• Respond to customer enquiries and collaborate with internal teams.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver high-quality, compliant work aligned with processes and standards.
• Identify and drive improvements in processes to enhance the customer journey.
• Ensure compliance with CDM and all Health & Safety legislation.
