Job summary

South Staffordshire Swim Academy is seeking a Water Assistant to join the Swim Academy Team at Wombourne Leisure Centre. You will assist in delivering safe, fun, and effective swimming lessons to children from 3 years to adults, following the STA Learn to Swim programme, under the supervision of a qualified Swim Teacher.

No formal experience or qualifications are required, but you must be a competent swimmer and willing to gain STA Level 2 Safety Award for Teachers or NRASTC.

• You must be a competent swimmer and be willing to hold STA Level 2 Safety Award for Teachers or NRASTC. In house training will be given for this if you do not currently hold either of these qualifications.
• Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) is acceptable for this post.

Responsibilities

• Assist and deliver safe, fun and effective swimming lessons to children from 3 years to adults under supervision of a qualified Swim Teacher
• Follow the STA Learn to Swim programme
• Be part of the Swim Academy Team at Wombourne Leisure Centre
• Participate in in-house training to gain required qualifications if not held already.

Job description

We are looking to recruit for a Water Assistant, to join our Swim Academy Team based at Wombourne Leisure Centre as part of South Staffordshire Swim Academy.

You should have a passion for swimming as you will be required to assist and deliver safe, fun and effective lessons to children from 3yrs to adults (where appropriately qualified) following the STA International Learn to Swim programme, under the supervision of a qualified Swim Teacher. You must have good communications skills with an ability to work with children from 3yrs through to adult learners.

Hours of work will be:

Tuesday 16:00 to 17:30

Sunday 11:00 to 12:30
