Job summary

Optimum Talent Acquisition in Northampton is seeking a Wastewater Treatment & Waste Technician to operate day-to-day wastewater treatment and water recycling systems, supporting waste management, COSHH, and environmental initiatives.

The role focuses ~70–80% on wastewater operations with ~20–30% on waste management and COSHH administration; regular hours Mon-Fri 08:00–16:00, £16.25 per hour in Northampton.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, utilities, environmental or wastewater settings.
• Knowledge of chemical handling and safe working practices.
• Ability to operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems independently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of wastewater treatment and water recycling system operations.
• Monitor all stages of the treatment process and adjust as needed.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct water sampling and quality testing.
• Manage chemical dosing, pH, flow rates and tank levels.
• Maintain records for environmental compliance.
