Job summary

Network Plus is seeking a Non Core Waste Engineer to support wastewater projects across Cheshire and Greater Manchester. You will perform setting-out, oversee QA, and ensure works meet project requirements while coordinating with United Utilities and site teams.

Role requires strong on-site setting-out, EDM/dumpy-level expertise, and excellent document control with travel between multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in wastewater projects preferred within the United Utilities framework or another water company.
• Strong setting-out experience with line and level.
• Practical knowledge of EDM and dumpy-level equipment.
• Excellent record-keeping and as-built documentation skills.
• Ability to assess the quality of materials and installations.
• Confidence dealing with technical queries on site.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively without direct supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Undertake setting out activities, including line and level.
• Use setting-out equipment confidently, including EDM and dumpy levels—not solely GPS.
• Complete pre- and post-work inspections and checks.
• Maintain accurate site records and produce as-built information.
• Carry out quality checks on materials and completed installations.
• Check the setting out and quality of subcontracted works.
• Act as the quality lead across assigned projects.
• Respond to technical queries at site level.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
• Work independently across multiple sites.
• Ensure works comply with relevant specifications, drawings and quality standards.
