Job description

Do you have an interest in the environment and want to help protect it? Do you have experience in wastewater operations or compliance that you could use to help support the business in delivering our environmental obligations? If so, this role could be perfect for you.

What you'll do

Day to day, you will be responsible for:

  • reviewing and coordinating EA CAR forms, including tracking outcomes, actions and regulatory commitments
  • investigating permit compliance issues and supporting responses to EA enquiries and inspections

  • managing wastewater regulatory data sets, including the submission of monthly and quarterly data reports to the EA
  • Maintaining corporate data sets and related administration
  • reviewing data for compliance trends to support the business and ensure compliance with environmental permits
  • completing technical wastewater reports
  • assisting with regulatory work as necessary within the wastewater regulation team.
What you'll need

This role is data-focused; however, effective communication is key to this role, both within the team, the wider business and externally, to enable efficient workload management, promote the learning and sharing of information, and ensure team priorities are met.

To be successful in this role and to effectively deliver our regulatory reporting, we are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • knowledge of wastewater treatment processes
  • experience using GIS software and database software - this would be beneficial but is not essential.

Most of all, we are looking for a great team player who is also comfortable working on their own, as you will be responsible for the planning and prioritising of your own workload.

What you'll receive
  • A combined pension contribution of up to 20%.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to sell up to five days of holiday every year.

  • A healthcare package that allows you to claim back healthcare costs.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • The opportunity to lease a new electric car through salary sacrifice (subject to conditions).
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • One paid volunteering day each year.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • Access to an interactive health and wellbeing platform.
  • Support from trained mental health first aiders.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone who is successfully recruited by us.
