Job summary

Ipsum is seeking an experienced Waste Pump Engineer in Greater London to install wastewater pumping stations, carry out servicing, diagnose faults, and commission new installations. You will work on pump stations, sewage treatment plants and related equipment, supporting safe and efficient operation.

The role requires reading technical drawings, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication to liaise with customers.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
• Confined Space Certification.
• CSCS Card.
• First Aid qualification.
• Proven experience as a Wastewater Pump Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of pump stations and wastewater treatment systems.
• Experience with pump installation, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Positive, professional and flexible approach.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative.
• Strong team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Install wastewater pumping stations and associated equipment
• Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance on wastewater pumping systems
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to electrical and mechanical pump systems
• Commission new wastewater pumping installations
• Work on pump stations, sewage treatment plants and associated equipment
• Attend breakdowns and emergency call-outs when required
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with current industry regulations
• Liaise with customers and provide technical advice and support
• Support the safe and efficient operation of wastewater pumping and treatment assets
