Job summary

United Utilities is hiring a Project Liaison Coordinator to bridge Wastewater Operations with Capital Delivery, ensuring safety, compliance and long‑term value for customers and the environment. The role combines strong operational knowledge with the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, guiding projects from design through handover.

A UK driving licence is essential and regular site travel is expected, with a company van provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in the water industry.
• Strong understanding of wastewater networks and/or treatment operations.
• Knowledge of pumping stations, CSOs and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience working within operational, maintenance or project environments.
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation and confined space requirements.
• Excellent problem‑solving and planning skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent Wastewater Operations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide operational and regulatory input to support decisions.
• Review scopes, designs and construction methods.
• Ensure projects meet asset, safety and operational standards.
• Identify and mitigate operational, environmental and customer risks.
• Support spill reduction initiatives and system performance improvements.
• Act as Operations lead during key reviews and governance meetings.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors and Ops teams.
• Support safe commissioning and handover of new assets.
