Job summary

United Utilities is seeking a Network Asset Engineer to maintain the wastewater network across pumping stations and detention tanks. The role involves reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, and incident response, with a shift premium for out-of-hours work.

You will review telemetry, update asset records, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, on-time delivery and asset performance at sites in Heysham and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Must hold a mechanical qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ 3 or equivalent).
• Understanding of wastewater network assets and maintenance is essential.
• Strong IT skills and ability to use internal systems confidently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive, planned and proactive fault finding on wastewater assets.
• Perform scheduled maintenance to maintain asset reliability and safety.
• Review telemetry alarms and update asset records with the team.
• Respond to alarms and field notifications; act as first responder for powered assets.
• Identify maintenance or capital needs to reduce repeats and improve assets.
• Act as PCW for contractor work; ensure safety, timeliness and budget.
