Job summary

Lanes Group Plc is recruiting for a shift-based role at Samlesbury WWTW to support United Utilities on the Bucket 1 reactive contract. You will work with a UU CST, covering 8am–6pm front shifts and 12pm–10pm back shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

You will carry out high‑pressure jetting, CCTV inspections, drainage investigations and maintenance of jetting equipment. You will input data on a laptop/tablet and adhere to safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • HGV Class 2 (C) licence required.
  • NRSWA – Sign, Lighting & Guarding qualifications preferred.
  • CPC and EUSR National Water Hygiene beneficial.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Bucket 1 reactive contract to solve sewer network issues.
  • Work with United Utilities Customer Support Technician on site.
  • Clean, camera and investigate sewers as directed.
  • Attend to customers and communicate works & timescales clearly.
  • Inspect and investigate drainage for blockages, leaks or damage.
  • Carry out high‑pressure water jetting operations and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform CCTV inspections as required.
  • Input data using laptop/tablet and ensure safety procedures are followed.

Job description

The role available will be working from the Samlesbury WWTW alongside a United Utilities Customer Support Technician, where you will be required to work on the Bucket 1 reactive contract solving problems on the sewer network. This role will be on a shift-based pattern with working times of 8am to 6pm front shift and 12pm to 10pm back shift. Weekends and Bank Holidays are included.,

  • You will be working closely with a CST (UU Operative) to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
  • Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
  • Inspect and investigate drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could cause impact to customers and network.
  • Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting
  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
  • Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
  • Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
  • Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
