Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking a Waste Transfer operative to manage reception, movement, processing and storage of waste streams across on-site facilities. The role requires flexibility to cover a 6am–6pm shift pattern and the ability to operate a telehandler.

Responsibilities

• Provide an effective Waste Transfer service covering reception, identification, movement, processing and storage of waste streams.
• Ensure waste management on site complies with planning permission, Environmental Permit and HSEMS.
• Shift pattern flexible between 6am–6pm.
• Drive a telehandler as part of the role.

About the Role:

In this role you will provide an effective Waste Transfer service facilitating the correct reception, identification, movement, processing and storage of a variety of waste streams including, residual, recycling, garden, scrap metal, street cleansing, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, tyres and other hazardous wastes. To ensure all waste management on site is completed within the remit of the sites planning permission, Environmental Permit and Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems. You will need to be flexible within your working hours between 6am-6pm on a shift pattern. You will be required to drive a tele handler.
