Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Waste Operations Supervisor to oversee daily waste site operations at Bardon and other county sites. You will supervise staff, ensure equipment is maintained, and work with your line manager to deliver a high-quality service across sites.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, staff training experience, and knowledge of waste legislation and health and safety. Travel between sites and flexible hours may be required, with potential to progress to HGV

Qualifications

• GCSEs (Maths and English) or equivalent.
• WAMITAB CoTC Level 4 or above and Level 3 First Aid at Work or equivalent.
• Loading Shovel / Telehandler tickets and Forklift Truck licence (where available or to be pursued).
• Experience in supervising operational staff and working in health, safety and environmental systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operational staff and day-to-day operations at waste sites.
• Maintain equipment and resources to agreed levels.
• Collaborate with line manager to deliver high-quality Recycling and Household Waste Site and Waste Transfer Station services.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
• Support staff training and development.
