Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a capable supervisor to support the delivery of Recycling and Household Waste Site and Waste Transfer Station services across our county. You will work with a friendly team, supervise operational staff, and ensure health and safety standards are met on site.

The role offers variety with indoor and outdoor duties, potential to progress, and flexible working options including part-time discussions depending on service needs.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent level 3 qualification.
• WAMITAB CoTC Level 4 or higher (or willing to work towards).
• Level 3 First Aid at Work or equivalent (or willing to work towards).
• Loading Shovel/Telehandler tickets and Forklift Licence (or willing to obtain).
• Experience in staff training and development, customer-facing roles, and MS Office usage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operational staff and daily waste site operations.
• Maintain equipment and resources to policy levels.
• Collaborate with line manager and ensure health and safety compliance on site.
