• Experience in a supervisory role, organising an operational workforce and scheduling work programmes.
• Knowledge and experience of environmental waste legislation, health and safety requirements and local government understanding.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, competent IT skills using Microsoft packages.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and staff motivation, manage performance and training needs within the business plan.
• Manage day-to-day operation of collecting refuse and recycling; ensure tasks are carried out as scheduled.
• Supervise in-house staff or contractors; oversee labour, vehicles and removal of incidents.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety briefings; deliver toolbox talks to staff.
• Develop and manage data collection and monitoring systems and produce reports.
• Maintain stock control system.
