Job summary

Stericycle in the United Kingdom is seeking a Plant Operative to support the receipt, treatment and disposal of clinical waste, ensuring maximum plant availability and compliance with safety procedures.

You will unload vehicles, weigh containers, coordinate deliveries, and operate a forklift if required. You will participate in plant shutdowns, maintain records, report defects, and attend safety training. A flexible approach to shift patterns is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift truck.
• Good health record.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Flexible hours including shift work.

Responsibilities

• Unload vehicles and trailers and weigh containers.
• Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned and stored ready for collection.
• Coordinate paperwork and reception of deliveries to the plant, including suppliers and contractors.
• Oversee safe handling into containers; operate forklift if required.
• Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary and assist the Shift Supervisor.
• Maintain operational records and data, report defects or concerns to management.
• Attend safety notices and training; comply with health and safety procedures.
