Job summary

Stericycle is seeking an entry-level Biosystems Plant Operations role in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on receiving, emptying, cleaning reusable sharps containers, and preparing them for dispatch and reuse, while maintaining safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include running the wash line and autoclave, managing waste containers and transport loads, and supporting maintenance activities. A strong emphasis on safety, data recording, and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent is required.
• COSHH and IOSH certifications are preferred.
• Experience with waste containment and plant safety is desirable.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain compliance.
• Willingness to work shifts and operate equipment as needed.
• Knowledge of forklift and manual handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate Biosystems wash line and autoclave plant in line with KPI targets.
• Ensure containers, transport and cages are cleaned and stored for reuse.
• Manage receipt and dispatch of waste containers and transport equipment safely.
• Maintain shift reports, data entry and KPI reporting per internal policies.
• Assist with breakdown/defect repairs and support Maintenance Engineers as needed.
• Conduct shift handovers and ensure resource distribution plans are followed.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe working areas during each shift.
