Job description

We're looking for a Waste Operations Team Leader to join our Cannock site and play a key role in coordinating day-to-day waste operations. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team, drive high operational standards, and help create a safe, efficient, and positive working environment.

What you'll be doing

As a Waste Operations Team Leader, you will support the effective management of site activities, providing guidance and direction to operatives while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance are maintained.

You will:

• Lead and coordinate daily site operations, ensuring activities are completed safely and efficiently.
• Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HSE and Environment Agency standards.
• Organise daily workloads and yard activities in conjunction with the Assistant Site Manager.
• Deliver toolbox talks and on-site training to support employee development and safe working practices.
• Monitor housekeeping standards and ensure the site remains clean, organised, and safe.
• Oversee the segregation, processing, and storage of waste in accordance with site permits.
• Conduct daily plant inspections, report defects, and coordinate servicing and repairs.
• Liaise with Transport, Chemists, Site Management, Drivers, and third-party contractors to support smooth site operations.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, and operational efficiencies.
• Support stock control and maximise value from waste through permitted site activities.
• Open and close the site when required and ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely.
