The Highland Council is seeking a Waste Management Assistant 2 to support daily operational decisions through robust data analysis. You will collate and analyse waste data, primarily using Excel, and present insights to inform policy and service delivery.
The role requires a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the Highlands, with a 35-hour week, and a fixed-term appointment of 20 months. Salary range is £32,596 to £36,145 per annum.

Job Purpose: To be responsible to the Waste Operations Managers for providing accurate and insightful data analytics required for the Authority’s daily operational requirements.
This includes daily collation and analysis of waste operational data including resource management principally using, but not limited to Excel.
To undertake data analysis to support understanding of operational trends, the impact of policy and operational decisions and to underpin the Authority’s strategic decision-making, including drafting reports to enable understanding of key trends and forecasts.
The role requires data to be presented in clear, concise manner for a variety of audiences, in easy-to-understand formats.
